Wayne Business Conserve! is a pilot program that encourages local NEPA businesses to be recognized as they find ways to conserve energy and save on their bottom line. Run throughout the summer of 2010 in Honesdale, Pennsylvania, this pilot is spo
nsored by Sustainable Energy Education and Development Support (SEEDS), WorkForce Wayne, and PPL Electric Utilities. The goals of the program are:
- To recognize Wayne County businesses as they strive to conserve energy.
- To demonstrate and share simple, affordable and economically sound energy conservation techniques.
- To support energy conservation and renewable energy development among NEPA businesses.
- To raise awareness of the many benefits a sustainable energy future will provide to our local economy and community.
Eleven businesses ranging from retailers to restaurants to service providers are participating in the pilot. Learning from the successes and short comings of the 2010 pilot, we plan to establish a permanent program open to all Wayne County Businesses.
